Is Your Box Square? is a self-assessment that measures the balance of your life across four sides — Body, Mind, Soul, and Social. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect and what we do with it. The short version: we collect as little as possible, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
What we collect
- Your name and email. Before the assessment we ask for your first name and email address, and we email you a personal link — opening it confirms the address so your results (and the emails you asked for) actually reach you.
- Your answers and results. Your in-progress responses are saved in your own browser (localStorage) so you can pause and resume. When you complete the assessment, your responses and your results — Squareness, Box Size, your four side scores, your shortest side, and (if you took a deeper assessment) your top motivation drivers and learning style — are stored securely with your email, so we can personalize your results email and mini-course, and so future features (like re-measuring in 90 days) can compare against your earlier box.
- Your consent choice. Whether you checked the box agreeing to receive your results, the free 5-day Square-Up mini-course, balance tips, and updates about the book Is Your Box Square? — and, if you later unsubscribe, when.
What we don't collect
- No passwords, no accounts, no payment information.
- No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics scripts, no social-media pixels.
- We do not use cookies for tracking.
How we use your information
- To show you your results and, if you consented, email them to you.
- If you consented, to send the free 5-day Square-Up mini-course (tuned to your shortest side), our occasional newsletter The Level, and news about the book Is Your Box Square? Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link at the bottom — one click and they stop.
- In aggregate, anonymized form (never tied to your name or email) to improve the assessment — for example, checking that questions are working as intended. Concretely: the scoring bands on your report are currently based on engineering design and will be updated as data arrives, so we keep your individual question-by-question answers and use them, pooled with everyone else's, to recalculate those bands against a real distribution once 50 people have completed the assessment. That analysis looks at the questions and the spread of scores, never at who you are. You can have your answers deleted at any time — see below.
What we never do
- We never sell your information. Full stop.
- We never share your name, email, or individual results with third parties for their marketing.
- We never post or publish your results.
Where your information lives
This site is hosted on Cloudflare. The details you submit are stored securely in Cloudflare's infrastructure and in our database hosted on Railway; emails are delivered through Resend. These providers process your data on our behalf to run the service — they don't get to use it for anything else. Your in-progress answers also live in your own browser; you can clear those anytime by clearing your browser's site data for isyourboxsquare.com.
Unsubscribing and deletion
Every tips, course, and newsletter email includes a one-click unsubscribe link (and changing your mind later is one click too). Unsubscribing stops marketing email; transactional email you explicitly request — like your personal assessment link — still works. If you'd like your name, email, answers, and results deleted from our records entirely, email [email protected] and we'll remove them promptly.
Not medical or psychological advice
The assessment is a self-reflection tool, not a diagnostic instrument. It is not a substitute for advice from a physician, therapist, or other qualified professional.
Children
This assessment is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted their details, contact us and we'll delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted in any email updates you've opted into.
